The present report is about investigation of the raw-material base for producing GCC (Ground Calcium Carbonate) and the current state of things at manufacturing enterprises producing this product in CIS countries.

The first chapter of the report is about investigating raw-material base for production of GCC in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan. In CIS, deposits of chalk and marble serve as the principal source for production of GCC. Limestone is not used for such purposes. In this section, data are presented on balance store of chalk and marble, regional structure of deposits, as well as characteristics of raw material from some deposits.

The second chapter of the present report is about manufacturing enterprises of GCC in CIS. In this section, data are presented on the lifetime of the enterprise, structure of property, sources of raw materials, technologies for producing GCC, characteristics of the products output and markets. The second chapter also contains data on existing projects for arranging production of GCC in CIS.

The third chapter contains extracts from legislative acts of different CIS countries concerning acquiring the rights of use of subsoil resources.

Appendices contain contact information on manufacturers of GCC and government institutions responsible for use of subsoil resources and geological research in CIS.
